Tom Landry, the well-known football coach for the Dallas Cowboys football team said, ‘Setting a goal is not the main thing. It is deciding how you will go about achieving it and staying with that plan.’ This is true at a personal level for every area of life – finances, health, work, recreation – everything.
Everybody needs a strategy. People without hope do hopeless things and people without purpose do purposeless things. Human beings hunger for purpose and hope, but sometimes that desire is suppressed by negative and destructive influences.
Our objective is to help churches who are interested in developing a strategy to become wholesome, outward-looking communities that will in turn help the people of their communities to live strategic lives of purpose and hope.
The book, Building A Strategic Church, written by David Beer and published by Kingsway Communications, is not for churches who are satisfied with the status quo, rather it is for churches who want to break out of the captivity of the status quo. It is written for leaders and congregations who want to see their churches in the 21st Century re-invigorated, re-focussed, and healthy.
David Beer is the author of 3 earlier books including Releasing Your Church to Grow, published by Kingsway Communications Ltd. David Beer is the Regional Leader for Purpose Driven in Europe, a movement that is helping churches discover their purpose.
